Radon Man (Letter for Coming Out)

after eelinfestion’s distance machine & the Sandia National Laboratory’s Long-Term Nuclear Waste Warning Message

You are made of light
and that is why
they cannot look directly
at your body.

Can’t or won’t is a difference
in nomenclature.
They have weak stomachs
and your body

makes theirs turn
heads, processions, waves
as seen during the football game lodged
in the spleen of America.

A defect, you are the defect.
For you are made of light but masquerade
and they can tell. Driven to a place like this,
condemned where not even your brothers

could reach you, could mourn you!
You are 23% man and 97% radon.
You are an image made in your image
that you made, but even

that is not of your own design. So if they will not exalt you
then exhume yourself from the tomb
they conned you into.

Grant yourself eternal joy.
